20.10.2023 Stereo:ID is organising a free series of light events as part of Operation Pirkanmaa during the winter season. During the autumn holiday week 19-24 October 2023, the media and light-art event Projio will be held for the fourth time in the Finlayson area. The cooperation also includes the light art work Circle, which will tour Tampere, Valkeakoski and Ylöjärvi.

11.9.2023 The decisive battles of the Finnish Civil War took place in Tampere in the spring of 1918. For 15 years, visitors could explore the war and these battles in a popular exhibition at the Museum Centre Vapriikki. The exhibition has now closed, but the topic continues as a web page. Innovative virtual content provides historical information in an immersive manner.

4.9.2023 On 7th of September, the international culture forum Kultuurikompass brings together experts of creative fields from all over Europe to Valga to discuss how cultural cooperation supports regional development. On Friday, 8th of September the participants will discuss the legacy of the European Capital of Culture (ECoC) processes in the city of Tartu, which will celebrate the title in 2024. Tartu and Tampere are also twin cities since 1992.

27.6.2023 The third round of applicant selections has taken place. This time, cultural operators were offered free premises for temporary cultural activities in Nokia as well as in Tampere.

9.6.2023 The first demolition art house in Tampere opens its doors to visitors on Wednesday 7th of June at Pinninkatu 47. Pinni47 is a multi-storey art exhibition and cultural venue, which will enliven the Tulli area in the vicinity of the railway station in June and July.

The Art Express bus will be making pilot tours to the Nuutajärvi Glass Village and to Visavuori Museum and the Voipaala Art Centre in Valkeakoski on four Saturdays in summer 2023. 5.5.2023 Operation Pirkanmaa, the regional development project in the field of culture, is launching an open call for proposals with the theme of cross-border cooperation. In 2023, cultural projects in the Pirkanmaa Region will be granted funds totalling 100,000 euros at maximum. The call for proposals is now open and will close on 4 June.

24.4.2023 The third round of applications is now open for the Meanwhile Use Scheme. The experts of the cultural services and city real estate management have again selected vacant spaces suitable for cultural use. This time, cultural operators can apply for two sites in Nokia in addition to the four temporarily vacant spaces in Tampere. Selected applicants will be able to use the nominated space rent-free for a fixed period of time.

3.4.2023 Operation Pirkanmaa 2022-2024, a regional project to develop the cultural sector, is now in full swing as the second year of activity is well underway. Although this development project is always looking towards the future, it is worth observing the results of its first year of operation.
